programming

I like sharing my ideas as well as my code. During these years I helped people to build their software as part of my job and as part of my passion for problem solving/programming.

My open source projects

Contributions

  • restlet (shell ext project lead), various patches
  • gnulib trim module
  • spi (Slackware Package Inspector)
  • slackmod
    slackmod (Slackware Modules Manager)
  • sclog (Slackware ChangeLog Monitor)
  • pb (Slackware Package Browser)
  • italian translation of the slackbook (GNU emacs chapter)
  • starwar is a 2D space shooter game for Windows, Linux and Beos
  • various small patches for several free software programs

My projects no longer maintained

  • perl scripts for LDAP, Cisco Discovery Protocol, etc (part of my work at INFN)
  • various ebuilds for Gentoo Linux
  • various packages for Slackintosh
  • Spar was my first open source project;  GSL, the GNU Scientific Library, is much more complete
  • Sushi was an attempt to create a suite of GNOME applications that allow people to play a classic pen-and-paper game across the Internet
  • Iguana is an interpreted, dynamic and robust programming language. It comes with a nice API which makes it easy to integrate into other applications.

Programming Languages

My primary interest is programming languages, because they are tools we use to communicate not only with computers but also with people.

My first programming language was, of course, BASIC:
